Mission Week

Unity makes mission fruitful

"Every year, on World Mission Sunday, the whole Church unites in prayer, especially for missionaries and for the fruitfulness of their apostolic work," declares the Pontiff in his video message published this Monday, October 13.

The Holy Father recalls his experience as a missionary in Peru, and the fruits that missions and missionaries bring to the Church: "When I was a priest and then a missionary bishop in Peru, I saw with my own eyes how the faith, prayer and generosity shown on this Day can transform entire communities," he stresses.

"Your support helps to spread the Gospel".

Pope Leo XIV invites "every Catholic parish in the world to participate in World Mission Sunday. Your prayers and support help to proclaim the Gospel, to support pastoral and catechetical programs, to build new churches and to meet the health and educational needs of our brothers and sisters in mission lands". He concludes: "Thank you for everything you will do to help me support missionaries around the world".

We're all missionaries.
